The Horse Society (THS) is the governing body of competitive Equestrian Sport in its region for the disciplines of Dressage, Driving, Equitation, Eventing, Showing, Showjumping and Vaulting.

The South African National Equestrian Federation (SANEF) is recognised by South African government as the national governing body of equestrian sports. SANEF is affiliated to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body of equestrian sports.
